Add new users to your contact list:
	1a. M -> Find/Add contacts
	1b. Right click system tray icon -> x -> Find/Add contacts
	2. Fill in the search values.
	3. Click search.
	4. Select the appropriate contact you wish to add.
	5. Click Add User.

Installing a new plugin:
	1. Unpack the plugin files into the plugins directory (for example c:\program files\miranda\plugins). After that, you'll have to enable the plugin.
	2. New plugins are enabled the next time you start Miranda.

Change status mode:
	1a. The status mode changer is located at the top of the main window.
	1b. It can also be accessed by right clicking the Miranda icon in the system tray and selecting "Status".

Change the icons:
	1. Get your favourite flavour of icons from http://www.nortiq.com/miranda/index.php?action=display&cat=Icon
	2. Unpack the files somewhere (for example c:\program files\miranda\icons)
	3. Go to M -> Options -> Customisation -> Icons
	4. Click "Import icons". This will open up another window at the right hand side.
	5. Press the button in the top right corner to select your icon file.
	6a. Drag the new icon you want from the right window to the left window replacing the icon you drop the new one on
	6b. Import multiple icons by selecting what group of  icons you want to replace: Main, ICQ or MSN. Click "<< Import" to import the icons from the selected file.

Get Miranda working behind a firewall:
	1. Forward about 20 ports to your computer (TCP packages), for example ports 6000-6019. See the manual for your firewall on how to do that.
	2. M -> Options -> ICQ/Network -> Specify ports used for direct connections. Enter the ports you opened up.
	3. Reconnect to the ICQ server.

Backup your contactlist:
	1. Backup USERNAME.dat (replace USERNAME with your profile username) located in your Miranda directory.

Create a new profile:
	1. Right click your Miranda shortcut and select properties.
	2. Select the Shortcut tab.
	3. In Target where it should say something like "C:\Program Files\Miranda\miranda32.exe", stick the name of the new profile at the end. The result should be: "C:\Program Files\Miranda ICQ\miranda32.exe" username.
	4. Launch your shortcut.

Start Miranda with a specific profile name:
	1. Right click your Miranda shortcut and select properties.
	2. Select the Shortcut tab.
	3. In Target where it should say something like "C:\Program Files\Miranda\miranda32.exe", stick the profile name (without the .dat extension) at the end. The result should be: "C:\Program Files\Miranda ICQ\miranda32.exe" username
